Abstract
Purpose: To report the long-term results of successfully performed guided bone regeneration using SmartBuilder, Osstem¡¯s pre-formed titanium mesh.

Materials and Methods: Six cases of guided bone regeneration using SmartBuilder were analyzed. Sex, age, location of bone graft, diameter and length of implants, initial and secondary stability, bone grafting material, initial and delayed postoperative complications, marginal bone loss, implant success, and survival rate were investigated.

Results: The mean preoperative buccal bony dehiscence was 3.83 mm. The final follow-up period ranged from 5 months to 6 years 9 months. The mean follow-up period was 4 years. Measurement of marginal bone loss was 0.275 mm at the final follow-up after prosthesis completion.

Conclusions: In patients with a maximal bony defect of 10 mm, satisfactory bone augmentation was confirmed by guided bone regeneration using SmartBuilder. The formed bone remained stable over a period of 4 years 8 months.
